Hi there! So today I did a MUCH needed hot oil treatment. My hair recently has been dry, brittle, & in need of moisture. I have been keeping up with my moisturize & seal treatments every night (even when I was out of town) but that was not enough. I used a mixture of extra virgin olive oil & raw shea butter (white). I almost burned it up on the stove, but I caught it in time.
A couple tips when doing an at home hot oil treatment:
- Use a great essential oil like olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, or melted shea butter.
- Saturate your hair, concentrating on the ends.
- THE OIL DOES NOT NEED TO BE HEATED IF YOU ARE GOING TO SIT UNDER THE DRYER.
- If you do decide to heat the oil, make sure it is not scalding hot to cause burns or discomfort to yourself.
Here are a couple videos and links about the benefits of a hot oil treatment! Enjoy & healthy hair!
